An Adidas soccer ball with a bit of shit on it after a tough Football in Faeces Association (FiFA) match

Putting our best foot forward for FiFA...

...and stepping in it!

As previously announced Vanpoover is proud to be an official unofficial partner of FiFA 2026. We wanted to highlight some of the best that Vanpoover has to offer visitors during the World Cup.

Science World

An iconic view of the 2026 FiFA world cup - a shitty fence backdropped by Science World

This bit of the sea wall is permanently closed to pedestrians, although you can take your 4.5 tonne van on it! (Editor's note: How fat do they think we are? Ed.).

Having spent the best part of billion dollars on hosting the event, we figured that we'd surround one of the most iconic views — Science World reskinned as a giant soccer ball — with some cheap rental fences.

Despite having "permanently" closed this part of the sea wall, we opted to use temporary fencing for the long haul. This brings a not-at-all-run-down vibe to the area, and of course provides the perfect backdrop to your vacation snaps. If you're lucky, you can also catch a glimpse of discarded drug paraphernalia. Be sure to tag us in your snaps!

Best time to visit?

For the best experience be sure to visit at low tide, preferably with a light westerly breeze.

The Science World building, built for Expo '86, was only ever meant to be temporary. Not to mention that standards were different back in the 80's. So, we never bothered to plumb it into the mains sewers. That means at low tide there's a horrific raw sewage smell wafting around the area.

False Creek

The best way to experience False Creek is by boat. The closer to the water, the better...

Renting a canoe or kayak is recommended, as this not only allows you to breathe in that full-bodied raw sewage smell around Science World, but also gives you the best chance of seeing a freshly flushed turd in it's aquatic environment.

Can't stomach the visuals? Then try a night tour and just follow your nose!
